Goodbye dilated capillaries & spider veins

Our non-invasive Capillary Reduction treatments naturally remove vascular veins on the face and upper body.

About Capillary Reduction Info

Laser Therapy for capillary reduction is a relatively painless treatment that increases the production of collagen, making those vessels naturally disappear.

Capillary Removal is the treatment of an individual dilated capillary using laser energy to target the blood supply within the vessel. The heat from the laser can collapse the capillary wall, causing the vessel to shut down on itself. Your body will naturally eliminate the capillary vessel via the lymphatic system. Our Vascular Lesion Removal specifically targets broken capillaries, spider veins (not blue veins), and angiomas present on the facial area.

Flushing is the same concept of heating the tiny microvascular network, shutting it down, and removing it as waste. This treatment specifically targets facial redness and is beneficial for clients with Rosacea.

We use the medical-grade Candela GentleYAG laser for fast results, and recommend treatments at 6-12 week intervals. It’s a non-surgical treatment so you can walk out of our clinic with confidence and clear skin!

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question not listed below? Visit our FAQ page to find more answers and info about our complete range of laser, skin, and cosmetic procedures.

  • How do I know what skin treatment is right for me?

Everyone's skin is different and everyone will have different skin goals. At Laser Clinics, we truly love educating people about their skin. That's why we offer FREE consultations to give you access to highly trained Skin Therapists that will arm you with all the information you need about the treatments that are best suited to you. • What safety and hygiene protocols are in place?

    Our clinics continue to practice the highest level of clinical and treatment hygiene, client care, and protection, so you can feel comfortable attending your appointments with us. This includes;

    • Disinfectant and wipe down of treatment surfaces after each customer interaction

    • Daily cleaning and sterilisation of treatment equipment and rooms

    • Thorough daily cleaning of all high touch areas with high-grade disinfectant, including reception surfaces, door handles, and treatment areas

    • Availability of hand sanitizer stations and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment during all appointments

    • Established Medical response team, including our Global Medical Director and Medical Board to provide guidance to our clinics and help address specific situations as required

  • How many Capillary Reduction treatments are required for best results?

Vascular Lesion Treatments are effective and improvements can be seen after the first treatment. The number of required treatments will vary depending on the type and location of the vascular lesion. Broken capillaries on the facial area (usually on the cheeks, chin, and around the nose), will usually require 1-2 treatments done at monthly intervals.

For Laser Flushing, we recommend 4-6 treatments done at monthly intervals for optimum results. We treat angiomas in the clinic and it usually requires one treatment. Our experienced Skin Therapists will assess the vascular lesion and provide a tailored treatment plan suitable to your goals.

  • Is Capillary Reduction treatment suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

We require medical clearance for pregnant and breastfeeding individuals prior to proceeding with the treatment.

  • Is there downtime with Capillary Reduction treatment?

There is minimal downtime with this treatment. You may experience some redness, swelling, and slight bruising on the treated areas. This is completely normal and will usually subside within 3-5 days when you follow the recommended aftercare directions. Scabbing may occur for treated angiomas and this will usually appear 5-7 days after the treatment.

  • What areas can be treated with Capillary Reduction treatment?

This treatment can be performed on your face.

  • Will Capillary Reduction provide permanent results?

The treated vascular lesion will not return if you follow the recommended aftercare directions and correctly maintain the treatment area. Vascular lesions such as broken capillaries and angiomas can appear as you age so maintenance treatments are recommended. For facial redness, you will expect to see significant improvements after completing the course of Laser Flushing treatments. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 2-3 months to maintain results.

  • Who is suitable for this treatment?

Vascular Lesions are more prominent on individuals with light to medium skin tones and are suitable for individuals with a Fitzpatrick 1-3 skin tone. For facial redness, Laser Flushing is suitable for individuals with fair to light skin tones (Fitzpatrick 1-2).

  • My spider veins are blue-green in colour. Can I still have this treatment done?

No – this treatment is not effective for individuals with blue or green spider veins. Our treatment is suitable for red and purple spider veins. We recommend you seek medical advice from a vein specialist.

  • Does this treatment hurt?

Pain tolerance varies between individuals. For Vascular Lesion Removal, you may experience a cold, tingling sensation in the treatment area and this will usually subside after the treatment. For Laser Flushing, it is a warming sensation on the treated area.

  • What will my skin look like when I walk out of the clinic - will I need time off work?

Each person’s skin is different – so your response will vary, but the majority of our skin treatments require no downtime. Your Skin Therapist will take you through a post-treatment care regime that will fast-track your results.

  • How do I maximise the benefits of my skin treatments?

Combine your treatments with LED Light Therapy and Skinstitut™ cosmedical skin care.

The LED skin treatment works on a cellular level to fight active acne, redness and leaves your skin energised and youthful. The deep penetrating LED lights are designed to be soothing, target deep into skin cells to heighten their internal functions, photo-stimulate dermal blood flow and induce faster healing, reduce acne and redness.

Our Skinstitut™ cosmedical skin care is the latest and most effective category of skin products that can be purchased without a prescription. Often described as an advanced cosmeceutical, Cosmedicals have the ability to target not only present and past skin damage, but provide the skin with some preventative capacity for the future. Based on a medically and clinically proven blend of AHA, Retinoids, Vitamin C, Peptides, Antioxidants and SPF technology, cosmedicals are not only reliant on a potent percentage of active ingredients but utilise carefully formulated base formulas, encapsulation technology, and penetration enhancers to deliver benefits as deep as possible into the skin.

  • Why do I need to use aftercare products?

The importance of preparation and aftercare is to ensure that you receive maximum results with minimal side effects to the treatments we offer. This includes our skin and laser treatments and can even be applied to cosmetic injections. For example, our 5-day home care pack has everything you need for before and after your treatments. We'll tailor the 5 Sknstitut™ products based on your skin type and the treatments you opt for. Sknstitut™ is founded on the belief that serious, high-end skincare should be accessible to everyone. For this reason, we offer the most cost-effective, cosmedical range in-clinic using top-quality, potent, cutting-edge ingredients that will maximise and prolong treatment results whilst helping heal the skin post-treatment.

  • I am currently taking medication, can I still have this treatment done?

Certain medications can cause the skin to be photosensitive. To avoid adverse reactions from occurring, we advise you to seek medical clearance from your GP prior to proceeding with the treatment.

  • I have Rosacea, can I have this treatment done?

Yes – both Laser Flushing and Vascular Lesion Removal do reduce facial redness and broken capillaries which is common for individuals with Rosacea. For individuals with Rosacea who experience swollen, red bumps and textured skin, we recommend Kleresca® Rosacea which can help target both the facial redness and texture associated with Rosacea.
