Why winter is the best time to start your laser hair removal treatment

The seasons are changing and the cooler months are on their way. It’s time to pull out the knitted jumpers, the beanies, the boots and …get started with your laser treatments?

YES!  Did you know that while laser hair removal can be performed at any time of the year, the best time of the year to kick-start your treatments is in winter? Let us tell you why.

1. It’s easier to avoid the sun

Many laser hair removal first timers don’t realise that sun exposure prior to treatment is a no-go. You should avoid excessive sun exposure for 2 weeks prior to your appointment. In Winter, it’s easier to avoid excessive sun exposure, making it the perfect time to start your treatment plan!

2. Fake tanning season has passed (for the most part)

Unless you are a die-hard fake tan fan, you will have relaxed the fake tanning schedule during Winter. Similar to sun exposure, fake tan prior to laser hair removal is a no-go because it interferes with the performance of the laser treatment. Clients should not use spray tans or tanning moisturisers for a minimum of 2 weeks before and after your laser hair removal treatment. If you do use fake tan, please ensure any remnants are completely exfoliated and removed prior to treatment.

3. You can stay covered post treatment

Once you have received a treatment, depending on your hair growth cycle, the hair can take up to 2 weeks to fall out. While you can shave the fuzz between treatments when it's Winter no one will be any wiser if you can't be bothered.  It's not like you’re not going to the beach tomorrow. It’s cold, it’s raining, and you’re curled up on the couch in your trackies with a glass of vino and your fave Netflix show #winterdoneright

A LCUK, men and women with all skin types can experience the benefits of laser hair removal via our state-of-the-art medical grade lasers. Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6 week intervals.

Each part of the body has a different hair growth cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.

If you want silky smooth, hair-free skin by Summer, don’t wait any longer to begin your treatments. Get organised and take advantage of the cooler months so that by the time Summer rolls around you’re good to go!
